2. What Data We Collect

• Account data: Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender
• Profile data: City, ethnicity, height, education, occupation, sect, religiosity, about me, photos
• Guardian data: Name and contact details of wali/guardian where provided
• Usage data: Login activity, profile views, messages sent, connections made
• Payment data: Billing information processed securely via Stripe (we do not store card details)
• Verification data: Government ID documents processed via Stripe Identity (not stored by us)

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the matchmaking service
• To verify your identity and ensure community safety
• To process subscription payments
• To send service notifications (new interests, messages, matches)
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

• Right of access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of all your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Right to portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. On deletion request, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Payment reference records are retained for 7 years for legal compliance (no personal data retained beyond a reference number).

6. Third Parties

We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the platform: Stripe (payments & ID verification), Hostinger (database & file hosting), SendGrid (email notifications), Twilio (SMS verification). All are GDPR-compliant processors under data processing agreements.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for the service to function (session management, authentication). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or using Rishta Helpers UK ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years of age
• You must be based in the United Kingdom
• You must be Muslim or be creating a profile on behalf of a Muslim family member
• You may only maintain one active account
• You must provide truthful and accurate information

3. Prohibited Conduct

• Uploading false, misleading, or heavily edited photos
• Harassment, abusive language, or inappropriate behaviour toward other members
• Sharing contact details (phone numbers, social media) before a mutual connection is established
• Creating fake profiles or impersonating others
• Using the Platform for any commercial purpose without written consent
• Attempting to bypass any Platform security or payment features

4. Strike & Suspension Policy

Violations of these terms result in strikes against your account:

• Strike 1: Warning issued
• Strike 2: 7-day account restriction
• Strike 3: Permanent suspension — no refund issued

5. Subscription & Payments

• Free plan: Browse all profiles, up to 3 active connections
• Premium Monthly: £11.99/month (40% off standard rate of £19.99) — unlimited connections, priority in search, see who viewed you
• Premium Yearly: £119.94/year (50% off standard rate of £239.88, equivalent to £9.99/month) — all Premium features at best value
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• No refunds for partial months or unused time unless required by law
• Payments processed securely by Stripe

6. Photo Policy

All photos must be genuine, unedited, and recent. Filtered, heavily retouched, or misleading photos are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal without refund. Photos are reviewed by our moderation team.

7. Limitation of Liability

Rishta Helpers Ltd provides a platform to facilitate connections between users. We do not guarantee any specific outcome, including marriage. We are not liable for the conduct of individual members. Users engage at their own discretion and we strongly recommend meeting initially with a guardian (wali) present.
